Gear and Equipment
Gear you must provide:
- BSA Field Uniform (AKA: Class A) and BSA Activity Uniform (AKA: Class B) uniforms — BSA Field Uniform is the Khaki BSA Shirt and Blue Jeans — 1 Activity Uniform will be provided by the Troop — more available for small price
- Scouts BSA Handbook
- Boots/Tennis Shoes—When appropriate
- A good Sleeping Bag–at least a Temp. rating of Zero degrees
- Backpack/Duffel Bag (A Footlocker is appropriate for summer camp)
- Flashlight
- And any other personal gear
Troop 279 Provides:
- Tents and Dinning Fly’s
- Table Service
- Food — will be purchased with camping fees on a per campout basis
- Cooking Equipment

***When purchasing new gear, We highly recommend Cabelas and REI. They have a great selection and low prices. They will also take the time to get equipment down and have you try it out and fit it to your boys so that you get an accurate item.***
